How it happened

Joanne and Nicole made a great connection at their childrens' preschool, constantly chatting about the latest interior design trends or sharing resources. The two felt they succeeded raising kind and resilient kids that were ready for the next phase of school life, so they decided to pool their knowledge and experience and form Stil & Co. Interior Design.  

 From design advice and vision boards to full-package residential and commercial renovations, Stil & Co. provides flexible interior design services to suit your individual needs.  “We’re here to strengthen our clients’ vision and guide them in making the right selections,'' says Joanne Madeo, cofounder of Stil & Co.  Her partner, Nicole Nerada, also notes, “there are groups of individuals who are at a loss when it comes to envisioning their space.  Our goal, in this setting, is to take the reigns making sure we include our clients at every step of the design  journey.” 

Stil & Co. understands the importance of designing spaces to optimize its surroundings, to flow from one room to another, and to bring value to a home or  business   A truly great design is when form meets function and this design duo knows what it takes to make a family home or commercial space run smoothly.  

One of the most challenging aspects a business faces today is how to reduce the impact new design creates on the environment.  Joanne and Nicole put every effort into keeping the conversation going with builders and industry members on how to improve existing standards.  

Sourcing greener products, reducing waste and reusing materials are some of the ways Stil & Co. are taking part in the change.  

Joanne Madeo 

Joanne Madeo, has a BA in Fine Arts from the University of British Columbia and a diploma from Kwantlen University College where she studied fashion design technology.  Her work experience started at a prominent real estate development company that opened her eyes to the world of Interior design and development.  To utilize her diploma, she later worked at established Vancouver retail chain-stores in fashion and merchandise.  But it was her love for inspiring spaces and a need to be part of the creative process that brought her back to Interior Design. 

Nicole Nerada

Nicole has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the Fraser Valley and a diploma in Therapeutic Aquatic Recreation. She started her career at Sunny Hill Centre and BC Children’s Hospital helping children with brain injuries on their journey to recovery.  Nicole’s love for water and all things ocean led her to travel the world where she was enlightened by different cultures and their living environments. In her spare time, she would help friends and family with their decorating or interior design projects, incorporating her globe-trotting finds into her designs.  Her natural creative talents and obsession with design has led her to a fulfilling career in an industry that speaks her language.
